My Go-To-Juice Recipe 1 Bunch of Kale 1 Bunch of Swiss Chard 1 Bunch of Romaine 1/2 Bunch of Celery 1/2 onion 2 Cucumbers 2 Apples 2 Lemons 2 Garlic Cloves Handful of Parsley Celtic Sea Salt and Pepper to taste Pour into 500ml mason jars and enjoy within 24-48hrs. Keep in a paper bag in the fridge so the light won't affect the enzymes in the juice.
For the start of my blog I wanted to share with you my journey to Alkalize my body to not only kick start a healthy eating program of a Vegan lifestyle but to inspire others to start bringing more GREENS into their kitchen and to understand their amazing benefits!
My mother passed away from Kidney Cancer 3.5yrs ago at the age of 61yrs old and I truly believe her cancer was a result of an unhealthy lifestyle. She smoked 1-2 packs of cigarettes daily for 40+yrs, she drank 2 pots of coffee daily, she didn't exercise, she hardly drank water and she ate mainly processed food and non organic bagged frozen vegetables with the occasional iceberg lettuce salad.
I WAS super healthy, the kind of mom that would hide sweet potato puree in my girls hot chocolate, put pureed beets in their pancakes and call them "pink pancakes" etc. After my mother passed away and I was in the middle of a 3yr long divorce I gained 40lbs through emotional eating!
We women are always juggling the weight loss roller coaster, we start thin, get pregnant, lose the 30lbs of baby weight then get pregnant AGAIN, gain weight, lose weight and it's a constant struggle. My sister always says "I'm losing the baby weight but my son is 12yrs old"! As we age it does get HARDER AND HARDER to lose any weight. I am realizing that losing weight now is so important for women in their 40yrs+ as we need to maintain a healthy weight and an active lifestyle to keep our hormones in check. I have read many books on how a healthy lifestyle can practically ELIMINATE menopause!
As a Nutritionist and a women in her early 40's my mission to help myself and others transition from a junk food junkie/pre menopausal overweight woman to a lean mean vegan machine that is happy, healthy and free from disease!
So STOP saying you will start tomorrow and START TODAY!
